The idea
Popcorn is what you eat while you watch. For Stranger Things, Yoki let it cross over: a kernel turns into something from the Upside Down, a lab goes quiet, and the snack becomes part of the story it was made to watch.
The Film
The craft
Co-directed with Amanda Thome as a hybrid: people and places on camera, the impossible shots in AI, a kernel that grows tendrils, a close-up from inside a mouth. Both halves share the same cold light, so the cut never shows where one ends and the other begins.
